Your First Visit
Please allow 90 minutes for your first visit
Loose, comfortable clothing is optimal (and you’ll be accommodated however you arrive). Please make sure you have eaten something during the 1-3 hours period prior to treatment, even if only a small snack. 30-45 minutes of the first treatment will be spent in consultation. 20-40 minutes will be devoted to treatment. Follow up visits tend to last about an hour with both consultation and treatment components. Please take time to fill out the form below and bring it to your first visit.

We will discuss
  • Your main complaint
  • Your overall health history
  • Your questions, needs and expectations related to treatment
  • Your responsibilities in terms of follow up (herbal prescriptions, necessary exercises, return visits, referral follow up as appropriate, etc.)

What to expect
I use several diagnostic methods including: tongue assessment, pulse, channel and abdominal palpation.

Acupuncture needles are thin, solid, sterilized needles. Each is used only once, and disposed of in a sharps container after use. Some people feel no sensation with needle insertion. Others feel a slight pinch followed by tingling, aching, or heaviness. These sensations are all normal within the context of an acupuncture treatment. Once the needles are inserted, a patient rests for 10-30 minutes depending on the needs of the individual condition. Most people feel deeply relaxed during a treatment. For some that relaxation sustains after treatment, while for others there is a feeling of rejuvenation.
